We recommend AVG Free for a good computer antivirus, but for the best proactive defense, we highly recommend Comodo Internet Security for your computer. Why? Because they are free for home users and they are quality products. Which one is best? As for the antivirus, AVG has good detection of new viruses, though for systems low on resources it will noticably slow down your PC, but we prefer Comodo for it’s complete solution and excellent infection-prevention tactics, though it’s not the best solution for those who are not technically adept. I recommend those products primarily because they are quality software packages that are free for home users, so you don’t have to worry about renewal fees. The biggest gotcha with paid solutions is that when the subscription runs out and you don’t feel like paying, your computer is again just as vulnerable as if you had nothing, and likely you will need a repair soon.
